Art Deco Museum Showcase from the 1930s | Beveled Glass Fins and Walnut Burl
Availability: 1 pcs.
A masterpiece of pre-war craftsmanship - Craftsmanship in every detail
We present a piece of furniture that is a true tribute to the highest class carpentry of the 1930s. This neat display cabinet (bookcase) in the style of streamlined Art Deco (Streamline Moderne) is a piece created on an individual order, as evidenced by details unheard of in standard production of those years.
Veneer Perfection - "Waterfall" Effect
The fronts of the lower chest of drawers are covered with top-class walnut burl with a mirror grain pattern. However, the true craftsmanship of a master carpenter can be seen in the joints: the pattern of the veneer from the door flows smoothly and flawlessly into the front, rounded strip of the tabletop. Such continuity of pattern required absolute perfection. Moreover, to emphasize the uncompromising luxury of this piece of furniture, the inner sides of the doors are also finished with walnut veneer.
Jewelry glazing - Bevelled slats (6 mm)
The greatest and most unique advantage of the extension are its rounded corners. Instead of the usual curved glass, several vertical, narrow slats are used. Remarkably, they are made of thick, 6 mm glass, and every single edge has been precisely chamfered. Thanks to this, the curves of the display case act like a crystal prism, beautifully refracting and reflecting the light in the room.
Ideal proportions for modern interiors
Unlike the huge, over two-meter buffets from that era, this display case is characterized by extraordinary slenderness and adjustability.
- The width of the chest of drawers is only 120 cm.
- The depth of the lower part is 42 cm and the upper one 32 cm.
Thanks to this, the furniture will fit perfectly in a modern living room, office or elegant dining room, without overwhelming the space, and at the same time offering huge exhibition and storage possibilities.
Uncompromising renovation in the SkarbyPRLu studio
The furniture has undergone a multi-week revitalization process. We removed the old, yellowed coatings to raw veneer. We protected the surface with the highest quality hard oil. The wood has a noble, satin-matt finish, beautiful three-dimensional depth (the so-called 3D burl effect) and resistance to water, alcohol and everyday use.
DIMENSIONS:
- Total width (bottom): 120 cm
- Total height: 161 cm (bottom 67 cm + extension 94 cm)
- Depth: 42 cm (bottom) / 32 cm (top)
- Width of extension: 108 cm
This is an investment piece of furniture for a real connoisseur.
