Showcase with a bar "Atos" (1972) | Walnut and Mahogany after renovation (With original label)

Iconic display case from the "Atos" set, produced in 1972 in the Rzeszów Furniture Factory. The furniture has a unique shape, tapering towards the top. The fronts are veneered with patterned walnut and the sides with exotic mahogany. The thick polyester varnish was completely removed and the wood was protected with modern hard oil. The original production label has been preserved on the back!

A true design record - A rarity for collectors
We present to you a piece of furniture that is not only a beautiful piece of equipment, but also a well-documented piece of the history of Polish design. This is a showcase from the "Atos" set (Type 1391-B), which left the plant in Strzyżów (Rzeszowskie Fabryki Mebli) in 1972. This is evidenced by the perfectly preserved, original paper label on the back of the furniture, which is a great value for lovers of Mid-Century Modern design.

Mahogany and Walnut - A noble contrast
According to the information on the label, the furniture is a masterful combination of two types of wood. The sides of the display cabinet are finished with mahogany veneer, while the fronts feature extremely decorative walnut veneer. The walnut grains are arranged in a dynamic, pyramidal pattern, which gives the body a predatory and at the same time very elegant character.

Architectural lightness (Narrowing shape)
Despite its high height (177 cm), the furniture does not overwhelm the room. This is due to the brilliant proportions - the depth of the lower chest of drawers is 35 cm and smoothly narrows towards the top to only 27 cm. This procedure makes the site optically "tilt" away from the viewer, gaining an incredible, Scandinavian lightness. It stands on shapely, tapered legs.

Originally, the furniture was covered with a thick, shiny polyester varnish, typical of the 1970s. In our workshop, we did a titanic job of removing this hard varnish to the bare wood, without damaging the delicate veneer.
Then we protected the surface with the highest quality classhard oil. The wood finally breathes, it is silky-matte to the touch, and its three-dimensional grain is incredibly highlighted. The coating is resistant to moisture and home use.

- Bottom: A spacious cabinet with double doors.

- Middle: A closed bar for your favorite drinks (hatch) and an additional cabinet/alcove.

- Top: A glass display case with sliding windows and a glass shelf for decorations or books.
