FULL DESCRIPTION:
The Masterpiece of Professor Halas
We are thrilled to offer a complete, matching set of four exceptional dining chairs that are the pride of Polish Mid-Century design. This is the famous Model 200-190, created in the 1960s by Professor Rajmund Halas—a visionary designer and founder of the Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan.
Halas was renowned for creating furniture that perfectly balanced sculptural beauty with everyday ergonomics. The genius of this design lies in the striking compass-style A-frame legs and the characteristic, gracefully curved "crescent" backrest that appears to float above the seat.
A Color That Comes Alive
In our EuroVintageRestored (SkarbyPRLu) workshop, we gave this classic a sophisticated, contemporary update.
The drop-in seats and backrests were completely rebuilt from scratch using high-resilience foam for modern comfort. We selected a high-quality, multidimensional fabric with a unique "chameleon" effect. Depending on the lighting and the viewing angle, the color shifts beautifully between deep navy blue, cool grey, and elegant graphite.
Uncompromising Wood Restoration
The solid beech wood frames were meticulously stripped of all old varnishes by hand. We stained them to a rich, warm walnut tone and sealed the frames with premium, eco-friendly hard wax oil. This treatment provides a smooth, satin-matte finish that protects the wood against daily dining use without the artificial gloss of synthetic lacquers.
DIMENSIONS (per chair):
Width: 40 cm (15.7 in)
Total Depth: 48 cm (18.9 in)
Total Height: 76 cm (29.9 in)
The listed price is for the complete set of 4 chairs. We do not separate this set.
