A Kaleidoscope of Natural Wood
We are proud to present a small piece of furniture with a massive artistic impact. This pre-war Art Deco occasional table proves that in the 1930s, the natural grain of wood was the ultimate interior decoration.
The main tabletop is an absolute masterpiece. The craftsman utilized the highly demanding "four-way match" (or cross-match) veneering technique. Four distinct leaves of premium walnut veneer meet flawlessly in the center, creating a perfectly symmetrical, mesmerizing pattern that resembles a blooming flower or a butterfly.

Original 1930s Details
It is incredibly rare to find pieces of this age with their fragile components completely intact. Resting on the stunning walnut top is the original 5mm thick glass pane, secured by the authentic, period-correct metal clips. This thick glass not only protects the noble veneer but also beautifully reflects light, adding to the table's elegant aura.

A Play of Contrasts: Walnut and Oak
To give the piece visual grounding and architectural balance, the original maker used two distinct woods. While the top glows with warm, golden walnut, the spacious lower shelf is finished in robust, dark oak. The table stands on four sturdy, elegantly integrated legs.

With a height of 70 cm (27.5 inches), this piece is taller than a standard modern coffee table. It was originally designed as a tea, card, or smoking table. Today, it serves perfectly as:

Uncompromising Restoration
The table has been completely and professionally restored in our specialized workshop (SkarbyPRLu). All old, degraded varnishes were meticulously stripped down to the bare wood. Both the walnut and oak surfaces were treated with premium hard wax oil. This modern, high-end treatment provides a natural, satin-matte touch that highlights the depth of the wood grain while protecting it against daily use.
